CREATING A NEW CENTER OF PLACE
The Crossings at Brick Church Station envisions a vibrant, mixed‑use, transit‑oriented hub that seamlessly integrates 820 mixed‑income residences, over 200,000 square feet of grocery-anchored retail, a pedestrian promenade that connects directly to NJ Transit’s Brick Church train station, and a 1,200‑space garage. This multi-phase project redevelops an outdated retail strip center to create density, catalyze equitable revitalization, promote sustainable mobility, and enhance community pride in East Orange.

Benefits
Rising Builders
In partnership with the East Orange Mayor’s Office of Employment and Training, The Crossings has developed the Rising Builders program, which gives free construction skills training to East Orange residents looking to build lifelong careers in both open-shop and union trades.
East Orange Career Accelerator
In partnership with the East Orange Mayor’s Office of Employment and Training, The Crossings has developed the East Orange Career Accelerator program to provide soft skills training, resume preparation, and mock job interviews to East Orange Residents.
Mural Arts
In partnership with the East Orange YMCA, the Crossings is beautifying East Orange through public art.
